BeamNG Drive
BeamNG.drive is a vehicle simulation game built around realistic driving physics and detailed vehicle damage. There is no single story campaign with a fixed protagonist or ending. Instead, players can drive freely, complete scenarios, take part in missions, experiment with vehicles, or create their own situations. Cars are simulated from many connected physical parts, so crashes can bend body panels, damage suspension, break wheels, affect steering, and make a vehicle difficult or impossible to drive.
Open Maps and Driving Challenges
The game contains several large maps with roads, cities, highways, mountains, dirt trails, industrial areas, race tracks, and off-road locations. In Free Roam, players can choose a vehicle, spawn anywhere on the map, change traffic settings, and drive without a required objective. Other modes provide specific tasks such as racing, delivering cargo, escaping from police, performing stunts, or reaching checkpoints within a time limit.
Cars, Crashes, and Vehicle Control
Driving is the main part of the gameplay, but BeamNG.drive also gives players many ways to experiment with vehicles. Different cars have their own weight, engines, suspension, drivetrain, and handling. Players can:
路 drive cars, trucks, buses, and off-road vehicles;
路 race against AI-controlled opponents;
路 use traffic and police systems;
路 complete time trials and checkpoint challenges;
路 tow trailers and transport cargo;
路 customize vehicle parts and configurations;
路 create crashes and test vehicle damage.
The damage system affects more than appearance. A strong impact can change wheel alignment, damage the engine, break the radiator, deform the frame, or destroy parts of the suspension. The player may still be able to continue driving after a smaller crash, but serious damage can completely stop the vehicle.
BeamNG.drive also includes missions and scenarios that give the player clear objectives. Some focus on racing, while others involve deliveries, parking, off-road driving, police pursuits, or vehicle recovery. Career Mode adds longer-term progression with money, purchased vehicles, missions, and different types of activities. There are no traditional character levels, but completing tasks and improving vehicles provides progression within this mode.
More Than Racing
Players can control vehicles with a keyboard, controller, or steering wheel, and different assists can make driving easier or more realistic. The game also supports slow motion, vehicle resets, camera changes, and detailed tuning options. BeamNG.drive is mainly about driving, physics, vehicle damage, and experimentation rather than following a fixed storyline. Players can spend time completing structured missions or simply use the maps and vehicles as a sandbox for racing, crashes, traffic situations, stunts, and custom driving challenges.
